Dr. Barbara Ferrer, PhD, MPH, MEd is the Director of the Los Angeles Department of Public Health. Our conversation on June 2nd, 2020 covered a wide range of topics including the murder of George Floyd, the impact of COVID-19 on communities of color, and institutional racism as the common denominator of the two. We also discussed measures that guide the County's COVID-19 recovery process and where Dr. Ferrer finds hope despite the daily challenges faced by our County.
